Welcome to Sweet Acres your place for Gourmet Belgian Chocolate Brownies, mouth watering
Shortbread and delicious homemade sauces.

We began making brownies, cakes, cookies and sauces some 18 years ago, in those days we mainly
sold them from our Gourmet deli. After selling the deli we continued making them  but only for friends
and family. They finally convinced us to commercialise the recipies so after 2 years
of research and studying with chefs and cooking schools the Fare Gourmet brand and product line was born.

We decided very early on that we had to use the best ingredients and create mouth watering masterpieces
and not a mass produced run of the mill product. Our products are not only handmade with the
finest ingredients but with the highest health and quality standards. Many of our recipes have been
handed down from generations gone past, they include Oma's (Carmen's grandmother, a German chef, 
who for many years worked in Thredbo delighting the palates of many skiers). Nanna's choko pickle
(Nanna was a daughter-in-law of James Stedman the man who brought minties to Australia
and started the Sweetacres empire). Now there's a receipe, born from the depression when choko,
cauliflower  and lots of vegetables were grown in many Sydney back yards. Nanna saved money making
her own pickle, how appropriate for our current economic climate.

We look forward to bringing comfort food to a world that is in upheaval where life's little luxuries have
been replaced by stress and anxiety. Don't let the woes of the world get you down take a break and treat
