Sweet Acres Brownie Bar specialises in a huge variety of handmade Belgian Chocolate Fudge Brownies, Sticky Date Cakes, Mud Cakes, Fruit Cakes, Carrot Cakes, Slices, Cookies, and delicious sauces, all can best be described as unbelievably delicious.

We only use the finest ingredients  - Belgian Dark Chocolate, Farm Fresh Eggs, and real Butter.

We love what we do and take pride in our products. We follow stringent quality and health controls (HACCP Program in place) to ensure our products are of the highest stardard.  But most of all you will love the taste - Dessert lovers beware this is pure indulgence.

The New Brownie Bar Cafe

New and exciting news! The Fare Gourmet Brownie Bar at 24 Castle Hill Rd is now closed. The NEW Sweet Acres 'Brownie Bar Cafe' is now open about 50 metres away, between Bakers Delight and the West Pennant Hills Pharmacy. A new much bigger place with the same friendly faces plus a few new ones, offering the best Brownies, the best Coffee and great Food. Even better it's licensed. Stay tuned for new opening hours and new menus.

New lines now baking - Monday, 12 August 2013

 At the Fare Gourmet Brownie Bar we believe that variety is the spice of life, so not only have we increased our brownie range including our Brookies (Brownie cupcake with a cookie on top and all baked together) but we have now inroduced our range of quiches. Now you can take home your dinner and dessert from the Brownie Bar.

 
Brownie Bar Now Open - Monday, 15 October 2012

We finally took the plunge and opened our Brownie Bar, essentially a bakery cafe this is a one of a kind cafe specializing in Brownies, we aim to keep at least 15 different flavours of brownies at any given time. But we always welcome new ideas for different flavours so why not drop in have a complimentary taste and let us know your ideas.

Although for many years we have been essentially a wholesale baker, and continue to do so, our retail shop is now the place to go for a smooth coffee and unbelievably delicious treat. We sell more than brownies, check out our range of sweets, treats, fruit cakes and savoury items.

 
New Brownie Slices now available - Wednesday, 25 April 2012

It had to happen but we have taken the humble brownie to new heights. If you were a fan of our brownie now imagine 3 times the indulgence. To our classic brownie we have added a layer of butter cream (various flavours available) and them topped it off with a layer of pure Belgian Dark Chocolate. Initially available at markets only, these treats will soon be available at cafe's throughout Sydney.

According to the Daily Telegraph Saturday May 7, 2011 the Macaron will loose its dominance and the Chocolate Brownie will gain ascendancy. Of course our brownies were seen as the better quality chocolate creations.

inSeason - CHATSWOOD'S NEW GOURMET PROVIDORE - Now Selling Fare Gourmet Brownies - Friday, 18 March 2011

Situated on a quiet, leafy strip of Chatswood¹s busy Victoria Avenue, inSeason is an Aladdin¹s cave of gourmet goodies.

A smart and comfortable outdoor/indoor coffee bar fronts the store. Inside shelves are stocked with a bevy of tempting products sourced and personally tried by owner, Carolyn McArthur. "We will always do our best to get the finest of locally crafted artisan products," she said. These include eggs straight from the farmer, Cunliffe & Waters jams, chutneys and sauces, Peter Watson marinades and Pasta Gallery raviolis to name but a few. Genovese coffee is served along with Teadrop tea. Bread is baked daily on the premises.

 

Among the delicious breakfast offerings are fresh baked muffins, savoury croissants or a slice of apple and pecan loaf. Lunch is eat-in or take away. Panini rolls and baguettes are filled with a great variety of fresh and tasty fillings or choose a freshly roasted frittata with salad greens.

 

Busy gourmets can take their pick from a range of delicious take home curries, pastas, pizzas, cold cuts, olives, marinated vegetables and sensational cheeses. Throw in a jar of pickles or chutney and you have a feast. Sweet tooths are well catered for too especially with Fare Gourmet's range of Brownies, Carrot cakes and Orange Syrup cakes!

After 2 years of selling our brownies and cakes at Markets and Fairs all over Sydney and beyond we have embarked on getting our Brownies and cakes in the top Deli's and Cafe's. From Leura Gourmet Deli in the Blue Mountans to the Northern beaches new stockists are siging up.

We hope to cover all of Sydney and beyond soon so you don't have to wait or travel far to indulage in the most unbelievably delicious Brownies and cakes.

Our Ever Growing Range of Products - Monday, 17 January 2011

Fare Gourmet is constantly growing it's range of products. Over the last 12 months our range of Browinies has increased to over 14 flavours, including the recently released Double Choc, Pecan and Cheese Cake Brownies.

The great news is our Deluxe Fruit Cakes will now be available all year round not just Christmas. And soon we will be adding more products to our bakery range including Carrot cakes and slices.

After only 2 weeks of testing the Black Forest Brownie was launched today at Eveleigh Markets, Wilson St, Darlington.
Smooth Dark Belgian Chocolate,  Morello Cherries with the added sensation of Cherry Brandy and Kirsch.

New Products Released - Monday, 20 July 2009

Fare Gourmet believes in giving our customers new taste sensensations on a regular basis.  Over the last few weeks we have released three new brownies. These have proven to be extremely popular and include Coffee and Belgian Chocolate Brownie, Ginger and Belgian Chocolate, and our latest which has proven to be a real hit is Grand Marnier and Belgian Chocolate.

Carmen, the owner of Fare Gourmet says that our goal is to release at least three more taste sensations this year but unless they meet the crucial unbelieveably delicious test they won't be released.

Fare Gourmet launches its products at Castle Hill Market - Monday, 16 March 2009

After many months of product development we launched on schedule at the Castle Hill Craft Market.

The Market was a success and our product tastings proved our tag line, Unbelievably Delicious, was correct with customers raving about our products and buying up big.

Interesting Facts

  • The botanical name of the chocolate plant is 'Theobroma Cacao', which means 'FOOD OF THE GODS'

  • The word 'Chocolate' comes from the Aztec word "xocolatl", which means "bitter water".

  • Champagne and sparkling wines do not pair well with milk or dark chocolate because of their acidity, which reacts with chocolate, causing a tart taste to occur. Instead, try white chocolate with champagne and dark chocolate with red wines.

  • Chocolate is not high in cholesterol. The cocoa butter in chocolate contains stearic acid, which has a neutral effect on cholesterol levels and is not recognised as a source of trans fat.

  • British people are second only to the Swiss when it comes to chocolate consumption. The average Brit eats 8.6kg of chocolate per year.

  • Although chocolate is not an aphrodisiac, as the ancient Aztecs believed, chocolate contains phenylethylamine (PEA), a natural substance that is reputed to stimulate the same reaction in the body as falling in love. Hence, heartbreak and loneliness are great excuses for chocolate overindulgence.

  • Chocolate syrup was used for blood in the famous 45 second shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock's movie, "Psycho" which actually took 7 days to shoot.

  • Chocolate is poisonous to dogs, cats and other domestic pets. The ingredient theobramine over stimulates their cardiac and nervo ussystems, and can cause death.
